So as a DD destroyer, don't actually plan on catching up to DDs.ī) you are sighted by a DD, you can't see them but you get the "detected" messageĬ) other ships like cruisers and BBs can now see you and open up, you have to turn and flee. It gets to about 32 knots and that's pretty much it. I don't think I have ever seen this speed in my Atlanta. Effectively you are a DD that is much easier to see and hit.Ĥ. In order to use the 1 saving grace of the Atlanta, it's firing rate, you loose your concealment and become much more visible. A salvo that lands more than a single hit is a guaranteed destroyed Atlanta.ģ. Despite the fact that on paper you seem to have more armor, virtually every hit will be a crit of some kind, any BB firing on you that hits will pretty much destroy with a single hit. Not as many or as quick firing but better.Ģ. Their damage and ability to start fires has been grossly overstated. Shells are very ballistic, you have to account for them lobbing in, which adds to range since they take longer to arrive. Torpedo range: 4 km (virtually useless since any ship within that range will totally annihilate you with guns)ġ. % fires started per HE hit: 1.9% (with the demolition module) (again averaged from 4012 hits)ĭetectability: 10.7 (much higher once you fire) Damage from HE hits: 248 (averaged from 4012 hits)Īve. I will give you my stats for my Atlanta and you can decide:Īve.
